Tiffany is my oldest niece and she asked me last year about how I live and what I do for a living. I thought I'd take a camera with me every day this week to give her some idea of what my life is like. I'm also emailing links to these posts to Cora, Sarah and Chase. Colby is only 2, so his internet usage is still quite low.
Julie and I started off Sunday with brunch at The Independent. We headed over after showing our rental property to some prospective renters.
My work week started on Sunday afternoon with a flight to Colorado Springs. Here is my portable office set up at MSP.
I consult for medical device manufacturers so I can work almost anywhere. Usually all I need is a laptop and internet access. You would think that this would mean that I could stay home and work from my home office, but I still need to go out and visit customers. Currently I am in Colorado Springs, CO on Monday and Tuesday, White Bear Lake, MN on Wednesday and Maple Grove, MN on Thursday. Fridays are an open day so I go to the client that needs the most help.
Here is my rental car. I seem to get a lot of SUV’s. When you travel you have to get used to driving a new car all the time.
Here is my client in Colorado Springs. Pretty boring huh? Check out the view though.
You can see Pike’s Peak from the office. If you take the time to look around when you travel you can get to see some pretty cool stuff.
Staying at hotels is also part of life. I usually stay at Residence Inn but this week I'm in the Hampton Inn. Julie and I will be staying in Austin, Texas over Memorial Day for free thanks to all of the time I have spent in Marriott hotels.
I get $50 a day for food. This is pretty fair of you have to buy breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Hampton Inn has free breakfast and I usually only spend $10 on lunch so that means I have $40 available for dinner. The Hampton Inn also has some snacks for dinner, but I usually eat out. I could go to McDonalds and make an extra $30 a day, but I don’t. I usually go to a nice restaurant and spend more than $40. MacKenzie’s is my favorite place in Colorado Springs.
After dinner I drove back to the Hampton Inn and had a cigar in the hot tub. Most hotels have a health club. I should use it more than the hot tub.
Pretty cool site. Hope the kids enjoy it as much as I.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kris!
ReplyDeleteI am loving this! BTW - next time you guys hit the Independent for brunch give us a jingle, its Scott's fave and I usually shoot it down because there is too much food! But I love the fresh made waffles!
ReplyDeleteWe will give you a ring. It is our favorite Sunday Brunch spot.
